The Jump Jet legs are produced by Rimtech. While their weight limit appears to be somewhat low, it allows flight over any distance, and free travel between the surface and orbital layers. While flying, Combots behave similarly to a Hover Jet with a slower speed and turn rate, but can still attack with ranged weapons. Also like aircraft, a Combot in the air cannot be the target of ground attacks, such as enemy Combot melee weapons, Tanks, or Laser Turrets. They are, however, susceptible to anti-air such as the Missile Car and AA Turret. When ordered to attack with melee, the Combot will fly right next to the target and land before attacking, allowing them to execute hit-and-run attacks and run down fleeing stragglers.

The Jump Jets, despite granting the unique ability for a Combot to fly, have a severe weakness - not only is the health of the part particularly low, but the defense values of a Combot are lowered to 0% in both categories while in flight, making the Combot take full damage from every weapon that can target them. Another fault is that combot crews cannot eject if the Combot is in the air so if the Combot is shot down, the crew is instantly killed. It's comparable to the Jet Pack torso used by both Mil-Agro and Neuropa.

Notes[]

  • If one equips a Combot with both Jumpjets and a Jetpack, the Combot's air speed and turn rate will be increased dramatically. However, this further decreases the Combot's health potential.
  • While both the Jump Jet and Jet Pack have extremely low health, Rimtech somewhat compensates for this by using legs, unlike the other corpo-nations who use the torso for Combot flight. Since a torso usually contributes the largest share of a Combot's overall health, it is generally thought that Rimtech has a distinct advantage in the air.
